I grabbed what seems to be everyone’s grail light this week from Wally World along with a recently sought after light from Dollar Tree to compare them for you guys.
The OT can fit an 18650, but doesn’t make it noticeably brighter and is unsafe anyway. I wouldn’t recommend it. The DT light won’t fit an 18650, but appears to have more candela and throws further due to the TIR.
I don’t have fancy equipment to test accurately, but you can see the pics for beamshots for a half-assed comparison.
My preference is the Dollar Tree light, but to each their own.

Apart from being quite blue (I’m guessing these are, what, 7000K-8000K approx?), I’m rather impressed with how clean those beams are.
A lot of the gas station type lights I’ve bought have displayed ringy or artifacted beams, and often some obvious colour-shifts.
Looks like my weekend destination has changed.
Can you do a white wall beamshot comparison, aka torture test?
Are these exposure locked photos?
