Grandpa carried one in Vietnam, and gave me one to carry on one of my OIF/OEF rotations. Never took it out of the scabbard (used a practical Benchmade folder to open MREs and cut 550 cord), but I felt it was a good luck charm. Remind me of my grandpa, so I pick them up when I can. Earlier one here is a 1976 “Green Sheath” variant, other is 1980s. You can definitely tell the difference in the pre-1981 specimens, the L6 tool steel seems much more quality than what was switched to.
