I got one of these a while back at Academy sports and outdoors for 50 bucks. I got this one in the mail today for under 30 bucks shipped.
I remember there were 4 at Academy and all but one had really crappy plier tips but this one from AliExpress is just perfect just like a leatherman. You can grab that thin layer of skin on your fingertips, just like a leatherman. Excellent pliers. Very happy about the precision there.
The scissors are also better than my old one. They cut through 550 paracord in one snip. That’s really pushing the little scissors, they’re still not like victorinox, but maybe they just need to be sharpened. You could sharpen them if you took the tool apart.
The file is good too. Aggressive. Everything is 100% legit here, the packaging, the tool, the sheath, it’s definitely a real SOG. Remember to grind the tip of the bottle opener into a flathead screwdriver! The can opener could be modified too. And the file. Really cool little tool and a good deal at 30 bucks. I guess SOG actually did increase the quality. Probably due to higher demand.
