This knife was my EDC as a kid, it’s an opinel number 7 with carbon steel blade. It has never once been properly mantained or cleaned, it has taken probably a decade of abuse, being used incorrectly, burnt with lighters and magnifying glasses, dropped into fires, being left outdoors, forgotten in the rain for days at a time, lubricated with olive oil when it stiffened up. If I recall correctly it was a rather bright orange wood originally, with a shiny blade. I acquired it from a french man who was backpacking through the village I was living in in Scotland at the time. I can’t say how old it was when I was given it, but he certainly looked after it better than I did.
