Admittedly, I knew it was a bit of a materialistic purchase as a $5 box cutter would have been sufficient for my work duties. I was unsure whether or not I’d regret the purchase, but 5 months on and I can confirm I use this thing every single day at work, home and on bush walks. And I absolutely get plenty of use out of almost all of the tools. And I’m also happy to say that it’s come in clutch on many occasions after I didn’t have dedicated tools for something I had to do with little notice. I can’t count the number of times I’ve been out and thought “oh damn I need a ____… oh wait!”. Love this thing to bits. And yes that’s red paint in the lettering. Also, the amount of comments I’ve had from guys at work is a plus. Nice conversation starter after they see me flip open a blade (it’s illegal/grey area in Australia). I will say that I may or may not use the straight edge as a sort of safety reassurance when I’m out for walks at night. I feel very uneasy if I ever find myself out at night without it. But again, that may or may not be true for legal reasons (it’s definitely illegal).
In terms of wear and tear, both blades are pretty dull but that’s my own fault as I still haven’t got around to resharpening. Though the dip of my serrated blade is quite round now which won’t be able to be restored. Fine with me. I’ve had the thing rust on me on 2 occasions but soaking in vinegar overnight worked wonders. I make an effort to re oil and clean every now and then.

Just curious what makes it illegal in Australia?
It’s the best everyday carry ever.
