When I was growing up, I loved watching MacGyver figure out ingenious ways to save the day.  Unintentionally, I even managed to incorporate his multitool (the Victorinox Tinker) as the first piece in my edc.  It’s a story too long to tell here.
So, here is a list of what I have come up with so far to help me tackle any situation with a MacGyver like mindset.

    1. Gerber EAB Lite utility knife: this little guy fits right in the watch pocket and saves my other blades when faced with those jobs that will dull them aggressively.  ($12)

    2.  Knipex Cobra pliers (150mm/ 5.9″) : I look forward to seeing what all the hype is about concerning this tool. ($30)

    3.  Milwaukee penlight (100 lumens): I absolutely love this flashlight and the light that it puts off. Imagine sunlight instead of your normal l.e.d. light… It’s built tough and is very compact.  ($20)

    4.  Gerber Truss multitool: this is the one that I will hand to other people when they ask to use my multitool for a task. ($40) – (See next tool for clarity)😃

    5.  The crown jewel of my collection, the Leatherman Wave Plus multitool (Black Oxide) is engraved with my name on one side and a Bible verse on the other.   I don’t think that I need to say much about this tool and it’s significance.($110)

    6.  Leatherman bit set: this adds tremendously to the versatility of the Wave.  ($24)

    7.  Leatherman Bit Driver Extender: will hold the Leatherman flat proprietary bits and also regular hex bits (with a magnet) as an added bonus. ($20)

    8.  Buck Trekker XLT pocket knife: this is a Walmart exclusive.  I’ve seen this knife out perform other knives that cost over ten times the price on reviews from YouTube.  I bought this knife for $16! I love it.

    9.  SAK Victorinox Tinker: it’s the MacGyver multitool, so… as a historical piece, it ain’t going anywhere lol.  (Free)

At work and in life, I try to be that person that can tackle any situation, emergency, or need that others, including myself, may have.  It starts with our mindset and that leads to our preparedness for whatever life may throw our way.
