I went to Smoky Mountain Knife Works today and subjected my credit card to some abuse:
Shpyderco Sage (Magnacut)
Kershaw Bel Air (Magnacut)
Civivi Kukei (Nitro-V)
Victorinox Swiss Card
I also picked up a new Chinese nata (which the maker calls a "combat cleaver") from a company called "Combat Ready." That name alone set off my mall ninja radar, but my Silky nata keeps wanting to rust, so we'll see how much I can beat on this one.
I managed to cut myself with the Sage while I was still in the store. It feels awkward in the hand, and somehow I put a finger right in the way of the blade. I can't even figure out how I did it. The salesman was really nice about me bleeding all over his counter and instantly had bandaids at the ready, so I suppose they're used to dumbasses like me cutting themselves. People kept telling me how much I would like a Shpyderco if I bought one, however, so I'm going to give it some carry time, see how it goes and try my damnedest not to slice myself again.
The Kershaw immediately felt like an old friend though. Kershaw is vastly underrated, and they knocked it out of the park with the Bel Air at a much more reasonable price than their competitors.
