… first microtech and I like pretty much everything about it except for the price tag and blade play. This is also the second one as the first was exchanged due to play.

Am I missing something? Is there typically some lock rock that works itself out as it breaks in? Same issue in two knives back to back?

My buddy just had the same thing. Ordered one, had blade play, exchanged it, second one had blade play, so he just returned it and that was the end of his mini MSI journey

Interesting. I’ve had a few Ram-Lok knives and none of them have had any play, and I’m pretty fastidious about checking for it. From the sounds of the comments here, they must have messed something up with the lock geometry on the MSI Mini.

Early version Ram-Loks were known for this type of issue (pre 4/24 manufacturing date) but later versions shouldn’t be a problem if set up properly…MT has outstanding warranty service if needed. I have a couple early MSIs that have worked a bit better (smoother actuation and more solid lock up) after some break in/use.

my msi had lock rock but it got better with fidgeting and is now nonexistant, the cerakote was messing it up.
