I dragged my feet on getting a Military 2 because I wasn’t sure it would be that much better than my Paramilitary 2 or my Military 1s, especially my Military 1 S90V Framelock. The CruCarta configuration does it for me though. The micarta scales are grippy while being comfortable and non-abrasive and the compression lock and swappable clip are nice quality of life upgrades. The full liners are divisive apparently, but I do think they make the knife feel well reinforced so I’m even more certain I won’t break this thing with normal knife use on my outdoor adventures. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing how the CruWear performs in use.
This feels like the perfect upgrade and everything I always wanted the Military to be. Now I feel silly for waiting, but at least I didn’t wait as long to buy it as Spyderco did to make it!

I purchased a Manix 2 in Cruwear and Micarta last week and I was thinking of getting the PM2 in the same(now sold out locally) … Then I started reading about the Military 2…. I think that it’s going to be my next Spyderco… My local dealer has it in Cruwear and Micarta 👍
I really like it but for some reason find myself not carrying it much. After seeing your post, maybe I will! 👍
