So I was surprised seeing this instead of the Ultra or something. Also, the Upgrades don't seem to be that exciting for now, as a higher turbo brightness does not mean a higher sustained brightness without changing the hardware. But maybe that's just me coping. The button looks different and considering how much the old one was rightfully criticized, I am hoping they did something with that. Although I miss the position indicator on the selection ring. In one image on the website, it looks like they changed the charge port flap, which would be good. I also like the new lanyard mount.
But somehow I excepted more here. I don't care about the light being brighter (I got the Nichia 519 version anyways), but I was hoping for even more throw for the spot. But that just changes from 405m to 410m, so I expect just more spill there. But no more throw and no UV or Laser option leaves me a bit disappointed.
My dream SK-05 uses 4 Nichia 519 at 4000~5000K for flood and possibly even an LEP for spot. But maybe the Ultra is going to do something like that. To me, this light is as close to perfection as it gets, that's why I am so critical of it.
