Which body design is better, Single AA or Double?

I want a warm 1800k Brass flashlight for nighttime use that's less harsh on the eyes (or atleast that's the excuses i'm telling myself to justify getting another light, Because damn, look at those brass lights, they're gorgeous). would it be better to go with the single AA model or the double AA model and what kind of performance would I be able to expect using AA's? I need a light that runs on standard batteries instead of rechargeable ones for backup or to take on trips where I don't know if i'll be able to recharge batteries so that's why I landed on this.
