I discovered the first fixed blade I ever owned in an old toolbox. I bought it in the Kruger National Park while I was still in primary school about 55 years ago. As you can see the handle took a bit of a beating over the years.
I decided to give it a bit of TLC. The photos show the result. A friend and fellow knife enthusiast made the leather sheath for me as a gift.
The new handle is Oak and the blade only says Solingen, Germany.
