I did this with a $80 Fenix PD35, but can a $16 Convoy S2+ handle this?
As water freezes, it expands and puts pressure on the seals and components. Going from freezing temps to operating heat can stress electronics and O-rings. And then the condensation risk – Moisture can get inside when things warm up.
I put the S2 underwater in a cup for 2 days, and then in a freezer for a week, took it out and turned it on high power until it melted. Handled it well for a $16 light and no wonder I keep ordering new Convoys!
