I used to carry a Native 5 in CPM M4 until I misplaced it and have yet to find it again. Looking to get a new EDC knife, and the Manix 2 is looking tempting. I'm having trouble deciding between the Cru-Wear with the micarta handle (I've never owned one, but always liked the look of micarta), or the MagnaCut with the lightweight handle. I know the main difference between the steel is the corrosion resistance, but I never had any rust issues with M4, so I doubt I'd have any with Cru-Wear. Any thoughts on either the difference in steels or difference in handles, or even if I should just be looking at something completely different? I don't do anything crazy with my knife, mostly stuff for my job like cutting boxes, zip ties, etc.

Crucarta but I would never buy from Amazon too many fakes
I have both. Both are excellent. I personally prefer the more complete package you get from the Manix Crucarta. I actually love Cruware and Micarta. Just an outstanding combination. I have 16 Manix 2s when I reach for one it is the one reach for all the time. Have to force myself to take something different. For what it’s worth… There’s a black coated Cruware bladed Manix 2 with green G10 scales from a legit seller on Amazon. 179. Might want to check it out
Between those two, I would personally get the Salt and swap out the scales. But the CruCarta version isn’t bad at all if you don’t want to swap scales, I just prefer the stainlessness of Magnacut.
As has been mentioned, I’d also avoid Amazon for Spydercos if you can. Too many people returning fakes and getting mixed in with the good stock there is.
I’d go with the CruCarta, but order from somewhere like bladehq. I’ve been burnt from ordering by amazon twice and will never order another knife from them. One time I got an empty zt0450 box after ordering a zt0562, and another time I got a bugout clone. Got refunds on both, but too many people abuse the return policy and the workers don’t know any better.
