Two grands for 440C is slightly above market prices.

“Lile knives are shipped fully sharpened”. Well there’s a selling point.

This is a big idiot product. If someone told me they paid $2000 for 440C I would call them a big idiot.

For a fixed blade in 440C that isn’t even full tang, you should be moving the decimal place like two spots to the left. That’s a slight exaggeration of course, but for $2k USD you could do a complete custom build of whatever you want with actual premium materials from a reputable knifemaker.

It certainly is priced like a “good” knife. The question would be, “good for what?” If you just wanted a Rambo movie prop, you can get a nice-looking one for ever so much less.

For a “survival” knife…. Well, it’s true you can stuff a bunch of survival stuff into the handle. But using a 2K knife for chopping up firewood and cleaning fish you caught with the fishing line you put in the grip…. Seems overkill. You can get a nice Opinel for around 20 bucks.

I’m fairly certain even a Ka-bar usmc would be better than this in every single way for the money

I can get one pretty similar to it at Harbor Freight for $20.

    Great for “hunting humans”
IIRC, Stalone requested the hollowed out handle. Lile knew that it was a bad idea but worked it out anyway. These authentic copies are supposedly well made but hollow handles from other makers have proven to be crap. Who knows if Lile really did make it work or if its also crap.

The value in this knife is that you have a faithful copy of the original one from the company started by the maker of the actual one used in a movie First Blood, not that it’s a great knife to take into the woods. There’s hundreds of better options at a tenth of that price.

That being said, as an 80’s kid, I loved the whole “hollow-handle knife” craze. First Blood launched an entire industry and the term “Rambo knife” lives forever. I had the one with the cap lifter notch and the big bulbous compass and the matches and fishing gear in the handle.

other than being way over-priced …..if you are going to be sneaking around POW camps in the middle of the jungle, at night …it would be the perfect side arm for a take-down compound bow ….with “special” arrow tips

If you want a knife like that you should get an aitor jungle king, it even has a slingshot in the sheath. You can get 6 or 7 for that price lol
