billy_s on BLF has made a run of NBD110 rosy 4500k 90 CRI (https://budgetlightforum.com/t/ddh-m4c-daydream-4500k-90cri-110110-multi-die-custom-emitter-xby-buck-fet-driver/231879).

It is essentially an SFP55 with better tint and efficiency than an FFL909A. I bought some of these LEDs and fell in love with them after missing them into a few lights. They are my favorite LED, I think.

billy_s further showed me a mythical 3x 110110 MCPCB that could be dropped into a DDH-D7F with 3x of these NBD110s to make what I would consider a dream light… and then explained the MCPCB was a limited run that was all gone. 🙁

Not to be deterred, and given I have no EDA skills, I decided on plan B, which was to smush 3x SFP55 MCPCBs together. The 20mms might have fit unmodified, but the wire terminals wouldn't clear the reflector, and the boards seemed too thin for comfort. the 25mm MCPCBs were better, but required modification to get close enough to each other for the reflector.

The XBY driver billy_s helped me get only came with 2x sets of wires, so I needed to solder on a third black and red wire for the 3x circuits. I had to drill quite a few extra holes to fit all the wires and screws for the 3x boards.

During the test fit, I discovered the boards move too much past each other, so I tried a bunch of screw holes, but they didn't line up too well and were fiddly. Plan B was JB Weld HighHeat, and that worked well enough that I did not need all the extra screws. It also gives a little extra bit of insulation on all the snipped traces to keep them from shorting.

Visually it appears to be putting out about 30k-40k lumens, all beautiful rosy 4500k-ish, running off 3x Molicel P45Bs. With better batteries it could probably crank out more, but I didn't want to push the light too hard till I knew it wouldn't make magic smoke. It is quite floody, not as throwy as my Convoy 3x21A with 3x LHP73B mod, but almost matches in throw by sheer brute floody NB110 power, and does it with way better tint.

The host is a DDH-D7F with OP reflector for 3x 7070 LEDs (about the same size as a Convoy 3x21A). The NBD110s are too large to work with centering gaskets in this reflector, so everything is somewhat of an adhoc fit with the reflector floating above the LEDs on an improvised central washer.
