Cutting branches with a medium-small chopper. The blade went in the wrong direction toward my hand that was in the wrong place. First picture is fresh after. Then hospital (vibe check). Then a day later while re-dressing.

And this is why I use an axe, chainsaw, loppers, or electric hedge trimmers for outside stuff.

I cut the end of my thumb off in high school at work. Looked similar to that. They were able to sew it back on.

This exact wound happened to my grandma.

She loved making salsa in the blender. She tried it and it needed more garlic salt. She poured in the salt and started blending, noticed a bit of the garlic wasn’t mixing and absentmindedly went to stir it in with her finger.

She ended up with a wound that looked nearly exactly like yours.

Heal up buddy, glad you’re otherwise okay

I have been a butcher for 15 years and that is a top 5 knife accident (grinder, saw, cuber all much worse). You really applied some force to that finger. Congrats.
