rusty knife

I just got this knife, its a new but old stock so its rusty everywhere and some part are oxidized.
Do you guys have any tips to clean up the mess without dissambly it and damaging the look?

I have a plan to soak it in vinegar fo a night but still not sure how to wash it later.
p.s the handle is not real buck horn, its just a plastic
