This is my German Army pocket knife, and in my opinion, it makes more sense to have a straight-edged section directly at the handle. This way, you have the advantages of a serrated blade and can still use pushcuts. However, most half-serrated blades are built the other way around. Is there a reason for this?

I would find that so annoying to sharpen that I simply wouldn’t. I don’t mean that with disrespect. I know my patients level.

Why would I want a serrated tip to slice? I’d rather have the back 40 have teeth for rope. Plain edge front. Or full serrated. No in between. lol. Just my personal choice. But whatever works for you!
