Went to replace my old orange D2 Walmart knives (one was being used as a bait knife and walked off, the other I had to toss before an unexpected metal detector) and saw they had a new crossbar lock with aluminum scales and 14c28n (a steel I rather like) for just under $20. Blade play is a little better than the $10 orange one, blade centering is a little better, and it definitely feels much nicer in the hand. That said, at $20 it doesn’t really feel disposable, and it’s just a kinda shitty knife that is probably fairly priced vs the “dang, it’s still kinda shit but how did they put this out for $10” vibe the og orange gave me.
