It might be one of them Solingen Bowies that say “Original Bowie Knife” on the blade. This one looks heavily used at any rate, it’s lost a lot of blade depth. These were made by several makers, Hubertus being one. Never seen one with that kind of handle though.

Just a curious thought. I wonder if that blade was hardened across the whole of it. Because I’ve had a few knives that really only were edge hardened and once I sharpened I’d away about 1/3 inch, no more edge. Just softness. Just a thought before you move forward. Maybe see if it’s even hard. Easy guides to find out on Google.
