I’ve wanted to try a Bugout for a while now and finally got one. Overall I’m underwhelmed, especially comparing it to a Bel Air I got at the same time, and my Deka and Terminus. While I really like the aesthetic, the feel in hand is just not there. I know it’s supposed to be a lightweight design, but I’m not sure if I’ll keep it. What am I missing?

It’s an insanely lightweight knife for the blade size (probably the best ratio on the market unless I’m forgetting something), made in USA and has a good warranty. That’s about it.
You’re not missing anything. You heard the marketing and bought one. Now you’re supposed to put it in a pack and forget it exists.
Nothing, all those knives you’ve mention, maybe besides the SOG, are way better than the Bugout. Just my take. Deka is only better because it’s way less expensive.
Aluminum scales and oversized washers take it up a notch.
