I had an old and beat up carbon ESEE 4 I had lots of memories with. And my friend has asked me to to borrow it, and I borrowed it to him.
I should have gotten it back in 2-3 days, and now it's been a week and he still says he can't give it back yet…
Yet he gave me this Master Hunter, together with box and receipt from nearby hunting store… he said that's all he can give me now, apologized and said that in 2 more weeks I'll get a brand new ESEE 4 too… but I want my old ESEE 4. I asked for my old ESEE 4 and he told me he just can't do that.
IDK what is going on. ESEE is not really sold here, and it tends to cost more than Cold Steel.
I might never see that ESEE 4… so is the 3V steel at least good?

3V is a straight-up upgrade to 1095 in everything except ease of sharpening. Better toughness, better edge retention, better stain resistance.
Of course, where YMMV is how you feel about the ergonomics of this knife, but as far as the materials go, it’s nothing to sneeze at.
Still shitty of your friend bot to have returned your knife though. They owe you an explanation wither way.
