I'm looking for a cheap folder for my gf. I got her a zelda themed knife, it's great, it's sharp, but it doesn't have a finger flicker and it is slow to deploy. I can spend $50 CAD total. Prefer straight edge, tanto, button release or liner lock, sharp, and reputable brand known for coming sharp/staying sharp. It needs to be light weight, but not a thin blade. I carry a north mountain chop2 copper handle, and the thing would be too heavy for her. I'd give her my cold steel mini kyoto, but I like it, and it doesn't quite fit in a girl pocket.
I recently bought a knock off cold steel kobun, it came sharper than the cold steel kyoto.
edit: I had to up the budget, there's really nothing worth looking at under $50 CAD, and I chose a Kershaw Misdirect

Kizer has some great budget options to pick from. As for staying sharp that depends upon the blade steel and how itβs used. As a specific model a Kizer Madrac might be worth considering.
Also CRKT could be a good option as well, and are a little more widely available than Kizer.
With $50 CAD being around $35 US that doesn’t leave a lot of choice.
I’ve been liking the SRM Air, light, slicy with a low profile flipper tab but 14C28N doesn’t have outstanding edge retention.
The QSP Penguin often comes up as a great budget contender, D2 steel holds an edge longer but is not stainless. Ganzo has multiple D2 models in that price range that are extremely decent.
A Civivi Mini Praxis might also fit your budget.

Maybe something like a [QSP Otter](https://www.knifecenter.com/item/QSPQS140D1/qsp-knives-otter-liner-lock-flipper-knife-14c28n-stonewashed-modified-sheepsfoot-blade-natural-jade-g10-handles) or Canary.
