Been loving Joker knives the last 6 months or so and so decided I needed to see what was up with the larger Nomad. I will say as a whole I think Joker is making the best bang for the buck bushcraft/survival/woodcraft belt knife on the current market. The value for money from all 5 I have is off the charts. If you've seen any of the YouTube videos on this model, it pretty much lives up to all the praise. It's a great large belt knife.

The defining feature is probably the convex edge that offers a lot of durability but is still thinner than I expected. It works well. I still plan to lean out the factory convex when I end up sharpening it as I definitely think I can get some increased cutting efficiency without losing any practical durability.

Handle is very comfortable with good grip. They didn't try to reinvent the wheel and just made a solid and functional handle that shouldn't be an issue in the vast majority of hands.

The sheath is, as joker usual, excellent, excellent quality.

The steel is Bohler N695. I know the common discourse on this steel is often not all that positive but I have never really seen anything to complain about with this steel. I highly doubt something like Magnacut (great general purpose alloy for knives) or one of the other newer powder stainless alloyes would make all THAT much of a difference. Having used the hundred/thousands of knives and god knows howany steels over the past two or so decades, the statements from folks like Roman Landes and Cliff Stamp really do hit the nail on the head about people's undue focus often times on one steel over the other. Not that particular alloys or classes of alloys can't have their benefits, but by and large, all else being equal, it's nigh impossible to definitely tell on steel from another in actual use. Maybe you can notice it when comparing steels of wildly different alloys like 52100 vs S90V cutting rope on a draw cut. But beyond that, people make far too much ado about the specific steels. Joker seems to do a very solid and functional heat treat on all the steels I have used by them.
