I’ve been carrying the Wurkkos TS12 with the SFT-25R emitter for a while now and wanted to share some impressions, because it’s a surprisingly capable light considering the very compact 14500 form factor.

Build quality and design

The overall build quality is very solid. The machining is clean, edges are well finished, and the threads are nicely cut and come lightly lubricated from the factory. They feel smooth and precise when opening the light.

At 90.8 mm length with a 33 mm head diameter, the TS12 stays firmly in the compact EDC category. Weight is about 75 g without battery, so even with the included 14500 cell installed it remains a very easy light to carry daily.

The rubberized side switch has a clear and predictable click, which makes operation straightforward even in colder conditions or when wearing gloves.

The light is rated IP68, so weather resistance should not be an issue for typical outdoor use.

Emitter and beam profile

The version tested here uses the SFT-25R emitter in the 6000–6500K range. For a light of this size the beam profile is clearly oriented toward throw.

It produces a defined hotspot with moderate spill, giving it noticeably more reach than most typical 14500 lights while still remaining usable for general navigation. It’s not a dedicated long-range thrower, but it definitely leans in that direction.

Output levels

The brightness levels are well spaced and practical in real use:

• Turbo: 1350 lm | 473 m | 55,833 cd

• High: 617 lm | 310 m | 24,050 cd

• Mid: 167 lm | 160 m | 6,416 cd

• Low: 21 lm | 59 m | 880 cd

• Moonlight: 1 lm | 13 m | 45 cd

Turbo provides impressive peak intensity for such a small platform. In practical everyday use, High and Mid offer a good balance between brightness, heat management, and runtime. Moonlight mode is also well implemented and useful for close range tasks or maintaining night vision.

Battery and electrical specs

The TS12 runs on a 14500 Li-ion cell (900 mAh) which keeps the overall size compact while still allowing strong output.

Listed electrical specifications are 4.2 V and around 7.5 W, with a very low standby drain of roughly 10 µA, meaning parasitic drain should be minimal during storage.

Practical features

The magnetic tailcap is a useful addition for hands-free use on metallic surfaces, especially during quick repairs or when working in confined spaces.

The two-way stainless steel clip feels sturdy and can also be removed if preferred. It works well both for pocket carry and attaching the light to gear.

Because of its small size and low weight, the TS12 works very well as a daily carry flashlight.

I’ve mainly been using it during evening walks and occasionally when exploring abandoned locations. In those situations, the combination of compact size and relatively strong throw is particularly useful.

Accessories

The package includes the essentials:

• USB-A to USB-C charging cable

• Lanyard

• Spare O-rings

• User manual (partially available in German)

Conclusion

The TS12 is a well-executed compact flashlight that focuses on delivering strong throw from a small platform.

With 1350 lumens and a rated beam distance of up to 473 meters, it provides more reach than most lights in the 14500 category while remaining highly pocketable.

Combined with solid machining, practical features like the magnetic tailcap and clip, and the very compact format, the TS12 ends up being a very capable small EDC light.
