I’m not a knife guy, I’m an engraver. I have engraved spyderco, protech and reeves. I’m want find a knife maker that is sought after that I can then engrave and people would find value. Not a lot of people want lower end spyderco knives even if they look cool. Here is some of my work.

  1. Eh. Screwing with higher end knives isnt what you think, necessarily.

For prestige brands like William Henry, part of what collectors value is preserving them exactly the way they were, not modding them. Some higher end knives LOSE value after being modded.

You might have better luck with something more easily replaceable and less customizable from the original maker, like a Chris Reeve. That might be a bad example though, because CRK voids your warranty if you basically do anything to the knife and it might turn people off.

I think you’d be better off doing a few “portfolio pieces”, using them as examples, and offering your services to anyone who wants any knife engraved.

Maybe selling one off scales that are engraved. Cold day in hell before I buy a custom knife and allow some jack wagon to engrave it. Your engravings look decent, but you aren’t getting a job at Beretta anytime soon.
