Bought this thing at an antique store somewhere in Tennessee a few years ago because it looked cool. The guy at the store didn’t know anything about it and there was no paperwork.
Aside from the bear engraving, there’s some sort of mark on the opposite side on the brass guard. Weather or not it’s intentional is unknown.
I’m pretty sure the handle is real antler, but I’m not knowledgeable enough about materials to know for sure. There isn’t anything that looks like marks from an extruding machine and it definitely feels and sounds different to plastic.
I have no idea what the circle pattern is. I can’t feel it with my fingers or even my nails but they definitely do not come off. The grinding on the taper is super consistent so I think it was machined, but with no makers mark, I’m thinking it must have just been a craftsman who had pro tools. It’s not super sharp, but it definitely has an edge so it’s not like it’s just a display piece.
The leather sheath is def handcrafted too and came with other bits of horn/antler on long leather strips. They broke off a while ago and I don’t know where they are anymore, but I would assume they were some sort of tie off.
Anyway, I don’t know nothin’ bout this thing and maybe I can get some help here.

Literal definition of “that’s not a knife, This is a knife.” -Dundee.
