So I went on a little Rovyvon Aurora kick lately. I have an A4 Pro Ti “high-CRI” at 5000K (Nichia 219C as best I can tell, at least currently).
i also have an A8 5000k “high-CRI”. Both are new so I’m presuming both have the 219C and are actually 5000K as stated and sold.
See my photos. The A4 Pro Ti is much warmer and slightly floodier than the other 5000K light. Some pics don’t do it justice but the A4 Pro is definitely floodier.
Now, the A4 Pro has a clear, longish reflector and a wider opening in the bezel and a clear lens, whereas the T8 has a more narrow bezel and a shallower reflector, but it too appears smooth, and yet I think I’ve read it may be a TIR? The lens is clear and neither the lens nor the reflector appear to be beaded like I’d expect with an OP reflector or what I understand to be a TIR lens.
Anyway, I’m confused as to why the beams look so different….can anyone shed any, um, light? I suppose it’s possible that one of them was new old stock and thus has a different LED beyond what I’m aware of. Did they ever use anything else but 219C for their high-CRI/5000K? Is the A8 also a reflector or no?
Sorry for the long and newbish post …
