I didn’t feel like going in the house for a fixed blade so I worked up a bow drill kit from some sotol stalk the 0512. It’s so rock solid it performs almost like a fixed blade. I lightly batonned it through the pithy stalk basically by pushing it with my hand, rather than striking it. It slid right through like it was foam. Carving up the board and whittling the spindle was a breeze too. I’m very impressed by how hard you can use this knife and that coating still looks almost new!
Anyone else like to use folders for woodsy stuff? What are some that surprised you by their beastliness in the farm or field?
