For just a little zipper/pocket pull tab, paracord isn’t any better than this, honestly. You’re probably not going to use enough cord for it to be useful as something else.
If you’re going to make a long leash or braid a bracelet or something with 25+ yards, then yeah, paracord is definitely more practical.
