Tuning a Trevor Burger Customs Urban XL on this fine humpday. Sometimes it's difficult to find the balance between detent (a standout feature of any Burger) with closing action. This one arrived with a blade that favored the show side in a noticable way, even with the pivot tightened all the way down. After taking it apart and reassembling without the stop pin, I determined the stop pin was ever so slightly too long as was the pivot barrel. I removed the slightest bit of material from each until the blade would be evenly sandwiched between the scales/bearings. Afterwards, the lock bar pressure was decreased by .25mm and finally the detent hole in the blade was slightly bored out on the side closest to where the ball enters and it now seats about 85% into the hole and I can slowly slide a piece of paper between the lock bar insert and the tang of the blade. This final step regained any detent strength that was lost in removing pressure from the lock bar. It now opens with a violent Burger THWACK and closes with a graceful, controlled and hydraulic drop shut. This might sound like lunacy to some of you button lock or axis lock fans but there's something so oddly satisfying watching a blade glider closed and then clicking into the closed position. It's also an outlet for my undiagnosed OCD. 🀣

I love the Urban XL, one of the best front flippers available. Very nice!
