D1K SFT-70 3000k vs DM11 SFT-40 3000k
Just some iPhone shots
Once I got my D1K in SFT-70 3000k I knew I had to try the SFT-40 in 3000k, needless to say, not disappointed haha
The D1K has a wider hotspot in the reflector housing which makes it great for more general purpose stuff / indoor use / walking around. Definitely easier to use with up close tasks but can still spot objects comfortably in that 100-200m range. A really great pocket thrower that wont take up much room with other stuff in your pockets. I find myself using this light more indoors and in the garage tinkering with projects, but I'll still take it with me for a quick walk or if I'm going somewhere and want something slimmer in my pocket with decent throw
The DM11 has a tight hotspot with the TIR optics which really turns it into a pocket sniper. The wider head takes up more space in the pockets, perfect for jackets, but definitely still pocketable. You can still use the DM11 for the same use as the D1K but the tighter hotspot is more harsh for up close tasks, but comfortably spotting objects in that 200-300m range it really makes for an awesome walking light. The spill coming from the TIR optics is super nice too it just perfectly fades into the surrounding area
In person the tree at 290m is pretty visible with the DM11 but the D1K can BARLEY touch objects that far, it can just barley make out the trunk of the tree. The house at 120m is currently vacant so don't worry I'm not just blasting the neighbors while they're sleeping lol. I am curious how these lights would compare if the emitters were swapped or had the same optics, anyways, I thought you guys would enjoy some bean comparisons with these glorious emitters 🔥
Feel free to share some of your 3000k lights! I'd love to see more beans in this tint range
