So i have this long discontinued knife Kizer Genie Ti (i actually have several) and the detent is very very stiff. All the usual things like adjusting the lockbar does not give the desired result and i’ve swapped around all the parts inbetween knives. I’ve got the action on two of these knives nicely tuned but i think i’ve narrowed down the issue to either the detent ball or the detent hole on the blade. My temporary solution was to stuff a tiny bit of teflon tape inside the detent hole on the blade and it does help but i want a more permanent solution. I was able to track down another lockbar insert with a detent ball attached but i’m guessing it was meant for a left-handed version as the detent ball is pushed to the wrong side. Is there a way i can push this detent ball through the lockbar insert to the other side with tools at home? Anyone ever done this before?

Don’t know about pushing through, but if you can get it out without losing it and punch it in to the other side, that’s what I would try.
