Hello everyone! This is a Boker folder, costs around USD 150 (EUR 130). Half serrated tanto.

Years ago I did something stupid – I used the tip to push a stuck piece of metal and a very tiny piece of the blade tip broke off. In the photos you can see the blade tip now at normal zoom and 3x zoom. To be honest, the piece that broke off was so tiny that you can hardly see a problem with the blade but I know it's there.

I know a good knife smith who can re-sharpen and thus make a new blade tip. On the other hand, he will re-sharpen at a different angle and I fear will forever change the original geometry of the blade. I almost never use it and it has never been sharpened after it left the factory.

What would you do in this case? Would you leave it as it is and keep the original geometry, or repair it? Thanks in advance!

Leave it until it needs resharpened. If it isn’t dull, leave it
