Question for microtech owners. I picked up my first microtech a month ago. A beautiful L.U.D.T. carried it maybe 5 times and noticed today it's missing a screw. contacted microtech and I can buy a screw for $10. I just walked into spyderco and they gave me free hardware for a knife I bought 10 years ago. I just contacted Benchmade about a knife I have had for 13 years and they sent all new hardware and a pocket clip. for free. How is it possible a brand new knife that costs over $300 loses a screw after opening a dozen boxes at work? Also why is this my fault? I pulled the trigger on a combat Troodon this week. Do these microtech auto knives just spit screws out or is this a rare issue?

My wife bought a Microtech years ago and it had an issue where it was so tight, she could barely open it. She sent it in for repair and actually had to spend a few weeks going back and forth with them while they claimed that the knife was perfectly fine and within spec. Then, she got a shipping notification that it was on its way back. When it came back, it worked well and there was a note from the person who repaired it on what he did to resolve the issue. In the end, it got fixed but it was way more of a headache than it should have been and neither of us have bought one of their knives since then.

I really want an MSI Mini, but if I do get one, I’m not doing it until I can visit a brick and mortar store and try out the exact one I’m getting first to know it works well first.
