I was cutting some green maple with my manix and a lot of sap stuck to the blade. I don’t know if any type of cleaning will damage the dlc, so information is appreciated.
You won’t hurt the DLC unless you’re cleaning with citristrip.
IPA Will dissolve the sap. Goo gone will work on it. Hell, I clean my axes with WD40. It works pretty good.

Anything. Alcohol, acetone what have you. DLC is tough the only thing that’ll beat it is diamond abrasive or some really dedicated sanding.
Chamanomano
I just use acetone. Cleans it quickly.

It’s sounds dumb, but hand sanitizer is how we get sap out of clothes. Maybe it will work here too?

Rubbing alcohol, nail polish remover, something along those lines should clean this up quick.

The only time I’ve damaged a DLC coating was from wiping the blade with a cloth i had also used with a diamond slurry, otherwise you have to gouge the blade to compromise the coating

I think cooking oil will dissolve tree sap.

Oil of some sort. I use Camelia oil to clean all of mine. It’s food safe and can also be used to keep carbon steels from rusting.
