This was harder to photograph than I anticipated. It doesn't look like much, but on a chef's knife, if you can't use the heel of your knife, it's basically useless. On that particular knife, which has a 10 inch blade, maybe the center two or 3 inches are usable. On the slicer it's not such a big deal but it was a good example of the divot. Also, I hope I'm posting this as a reply to my original post but like I said, I'm not that great at Reddit. thank you all for your replies, I really appreciate it.

    Its not really ruined, you just need to even up the edge. Given its cutco, I would just send it in to them for their warranty sharpening and they should be able to make it even. Its really not all that bad. But this kind of thing is exactly the danger of belt sander/grinder sharpening. It can be extremely quick and effective, but also has a way, way higher potential for error and damage.
