Hello, I have recently bought this Mora knife from a famous, usually legit online shop, but I think this might be a fake. It arrived in a proper Morakniv-looking packaging but I have unfortunately thrown it away. What does not convince me:
– steel seems very shiny, almost mirrorlike (the scratches on the blade are due to my abuse)
– not very sharp out of the box
– logo does not appear golden under any angle
– I can feel a very light relief if passing over the logo with a nail, almost nothing but I tried with a real Mora and there is zero relief.
What do you think?

Aren’t those to cheap to be worth faking?
I can’t imagine anyone knocking off what is known as a cheap knife (albeit insane bang for the buck)
The stainless and carbon versions are bright – I have the carbon, my son chose the stainless. Nothing I see in these photos indicates it’s a fake.
Just FYI – the retail value doesn’t dictate the chances of fakes being made; the popularity of the product does. Example: standard Casio G-Shock watches are not expensive (under $130 for most), but there are TONS of fakes on the market. They’re very popular, and a lot of money can be made by flogging copies.
It’s a counterfeit IMO. As you already noted, the blade is shiny when it should be satin. Additionally, the font for Morakniv does not match the [OEM font](https://www.morakniv.com/cdn/shop/files/Companion_Heavy_Duty_S_Black_Main_Product_2048x2048.webp?v=1756795211). And I’ve never encountered a Morakniv that wasn’t scary sharp out of the box.
