
For example Japan has the higonokami, their traditional folder. France has the Laguiole, usually with a bottle opener in the handle. What other countries have a celebrated traditional knife that you would carry? (Avoiding chefs knives because that's a whole can of worms)

I guess France is also known for the Opinel, but having recently been, and spoken to a few shop owners, allegedly (and this is coming from French people) the Laguiole is more of a regular French carry, followed closely by the douk douk. I bought all three while there because “when in Rome”
