In 1997, my dad returned from a business trip to China with this knife that he bought at an open air market in Hong Kong as a gift for 12 year old me. My mom was wicked pissed and it mysteriously “disappeared.” I’ve been bugging my parents about it for years and finally convinced them last night to return it to me.

It looks authentic as it has that gold coin attached that references Nepal. Those little wood pieces pull out and have little metal daggers attached to me.

Apart from showcasing, I wanted some input on how to clean and restore both the blade and handle but also the sheath. Or should I just use it for ornamental purposes. I am an outdoorsman (gardening, fishing, hunting, etc…) so it seems like it would be a good tool to use but I also don’t want to ruin it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
