So I was cutting an apple and don’t like the taste/smell the steel imparted.

Forced coffee patina. Stinks the same maybe a little worse??

Did I do something wrong? How do I fix? I just don’t want a bad smell and taste on my food!

Steel is 15N20 I believe.

    Carbon steel just leaves that smell on fruit & veg.. one of the reasons I don’t like it that much in the kitchen. It’s not the patina, the steel just oxidizes when coming in contact with acidity.
