
These knives look so cool! Does anyone have experience with Japanese traditional carbon Steels like this? Are they good quality for outdoor use or more decorative? 260 dollar price tag isn't too bad compared to most knives anymore lol.

Humans used way worse steel for thousands of years no problem. I hope you value the traditional make of these.
Following your link, it appears this is made of Aogami super blue steel sandwiched between layers of a tougher steel. I have knives made similarly and find they take a very sharp edge. You want to clean and apply a thin coat of oil after use. You may be surprised by the wood sheath that it comes with, it’s very different than typical sheaths.
