Hi guys, I used my new knife on a deer over the weekend. I went to clean it the next day but these blood stains wont seem to come off. What would be the best way to get them out without damaging the blade?

I’d experiment with simple green and/or isopropyl alcohol first. Also try oiling it with something like CLP, let the oil set on it overnight and then wipe it off. Lighter fluid might be worth a try as well, but keep it away from the scales. However, blood is slightly basic, so if it sat on it long enough it may have formed a permanent patina that isn’t going to wipe off, except with an abrasive that’s going to take the finish off with it.

Ew! You didn’t wipe it down before you stuck it back in the sheath???

    Edit:
I like Ballistol oil for cleaning. Flitz polish might polish that finish away.

Brush (not wire, either nail brush or toothbrush) and wet baking soda will remove almost anything like that. May have to scrub a lot, but should remove them.
