I was just browsing through amazon haul and i thought this gas station style knife was dope AF. Some of the earliest knives in my collection are gas station knives and there will always be room in my heart for them.
Anyways as someone that has a few Ozark Trails, I'm no stranger to the 3cr/mystery steel and for something like cutting tape, cardboard etc it's been fine. i don't even mind resharpening it if it comes with a weird grind. However, I don't own anything in J2. I'm assuming I can expect similar performance but I thought I'd ask anyway in case some of you have both steels. some resources told me the J2 actually edges out the 3cr in edge retention. also im sure i have stuff that is just marked straight up 420. is that essentially the same as J2?
anyway its 10 bucks and will get me to my free shipping minimum. comes with a matching pouch and lanyard which is neat. and the blade shape is just so stupid looking i find it quite charming.
