I work in real estate, so my phone is pretty much in my hand all day. Unlocking doors, answering calls, checking listings, quick texts between showings. Half the time I do not even know where my wallet is, but I always know where my phone is.

That is what got me thinking about it in the first place. My wallet is the one thing that still feels awkward. In and out of my pocket constantly. Sitting in the car, standing around at showings, lighter pants or jackets. It always feels bulkier than it should.

I started looking at those slim metal MagSafe wallets, including one from Puncube. On paper it sounds great. Phone and wallet together, fewer things in my pockets, less to keep track of.

What I cannot tell is how it actually feels once the novelty wears off. Does it just become part of the phone and disappear, or do you end up always noticing it when you pick your phone up.

If you are in a job where your phone never leaves your hand, sales, real estate, anything like that, curious what you ended up sticking with. MagSafe wallet, traditional wallet, or something else entirely.

Total game changer for me. I’ll never go back. Reduces the things I’m carrying. The one I have has a fold that acts like a phone stand. As far as getting used to it yes in my opinion it becomes part of the phone. When it’s off my phone it feels awkward like I’m going to drop it.

I switched from a minimalist front pocket wallet to a magsafe about a year ago. The one I had from Amazon was great (5 cards, lever to pop them out, and a lock to keep them secure) and rode on my Pixel 8. Only came off nights and weekends. (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DJW2RFR4?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share hopefully that link works)

I recently got a pixel fold and that wallet was too big so I went with a MoFT wallet. It only holds 2 cards but it’s slim enough that I almost never take it off my phone. I keep my ID and main debit card in it. Everything else is in a different wallet in my murse. It also has a built in stand, which is great when I need to do work stuff (IT Admin) on my phone.

Thieves salivating at this two for one special.

hmmm bro you might start a trend. I’m trying to understand why I have a wallet when I can put put my 5 cards on the back of my phone

  6. I swapped to a MagSafe wallet a while ago, and it’s been great. I realized that a lot of cards I was carrying around all the time I rarely ever need or use, so went to the MagSafe wallet for the ones I need to have on me basically all the time.

The rest of the cards live in my old wallet, and I grab it as needed…but it can be weeks before I ever haul it around too.

Those comments you made about your wallet will all apply to adding your wallet to your phone.

It also now puts everything into a single failure point, where losing one means losing everything.

I’d say if you want a slimmer wallet get a slimmer wallet. The thing you want to attach to your phone can be put into your pocket.

You seem to have contradicted yourself by saying you don’t know where your wallet is most of the time and never use it but also simultaneously constantly having to get your wallet out.

Personally I prefer to have a wallet separate from my phone. Who knows if it would be stolen or if you lose it. Then you are out your cards and your phone.

I also like to leave my phone at home sometimes or just forget it at home and go out and about. That and I carry cash as well

In Poland, if you don’t use cash, a wallet (whether regular or MagSafe) is essentially unnecessary. The ID card in the app is fully functional. Cashless payments are extremely popular; if not, BLIK (real-time transfer to a phone number) is the way to go. Long story short: I have one, but I don’t use it.

If your phone get’S stolen everything is gone. Main reason I don’t.
