Let me start off by saying i absolutely love this knife. Feels amazing in hand, the action is fantastic, the improvement on the vanchor lock is present (I own a few corgi v’s for the reference).

Only issue I have is a screw fell out right behind the stop pin, only a few hours after receiving the knife.

Is this worth sending in or just fixing myself? I’d hate to void any warranty by taking it apart but at the same time it seems like such an easy fix.

Contrary to manufacturer claims, they cannot void a warranty for you taking your knife apart if the disassembly is reasonable and necessary. If you’re comfortable with taking it apart to replace the screw, than you should do so. If you were to say, damage multiple screws in the process, then it would be unreasonable for you to claim it was a manufacturer defect and demand they replace the hardware under their warranty at no cost to you.

In my experience Vosteed warranty isn’t worth much, so there’s not much to preserve at any rate. I’ve never once gotten a response to a request for information or support from them. If you snap your blade in half in two weeks and there’s a clear defect that precipitated the event, then they are still on the hook to handle it, even if you’ve taken your knife apart.

I’m curious what the percieved upgrade to the vanchor lock is?
