Hey everyone,
I've been spending my morning trying to do a scale swap with the AD20S Barong with some Rockscale scales, but have been stuck with the show-side liner and the pins that make up the front construction. These pins will not budge.
I have tried using rubber pliers, pushing with a hex bit, pushing the liner against a table to get them out, trying to rotate and knudge them out, and have put them under hot water (but not for very long).
Does anybody have any tips on getting these damn pins out? At this point, I'm worried they're glued in some way and might need a lot more heat.
The original scales the Barong came with had some sort of issue that caused some bladeplay even tightened down, so I got the Rockscales to remedy it – it's really annoying if Demko did do something to ensure these pins couldn't move, I had the same issue with the Cruwear Smock Spirit Run that made it impossible to change scales without issues. And I'm worried more manufactures are gonna do small changes like this that makes knives harder and harder to mod.
