If it’s blocking the vent hole, safely dispose by taking it to a proper battery disposal drop-off. This usually happens if a light takes a fall, or has really beefy springs. Considering how deep it is, I’m guessing the light got dropped.
I’d probably keep using in a low power draw situation, but that’s just me.
