This is currently what I carry every day: generic wallet, Zippo butane lighter, small pen, keys, a generic AAA flashlight, and a Benchmade knife.
I’m thinking about adding a Leatherman multi-tool, but I’m not sure if I should replace my knife with it or carry it in addition to the knife. Is that overkill for EDC?
I’ve carried this same setup forever, but I got caught in a tight spot the other day and realized I wasn’t as prepared as I thought. I’m now rethinking my EDC and also starting to put together a small EDC bag.
Curious what others do — knife only, multi-tool only, or both?

Knife, flashlight, knipex cobra pliers, prybar. Along with wallet and keys. Carried a leatherman for years and really only needed the pliers and a prybar. Also carried a knife with the leatherman because for my uses, the blade on a multi-tool isn’t adequate. I want a quality knife vs just a knife blade. That’s just my opinion. I should add that I’m surrounded by tools at work. Not meaning my incompetent coworkers, either. My truck also has a toolbox in the bed, so that covers me outside of work.
Which benchmade knife is that? I like the look of it
